Designer View
The Designer is the main function of the app. Here you can specify the display of different parts of your QR codes.
Parts of the Designer are premium features, and are marked as such in the user interface, and need an active subscription to be available. You can find more details in the Settings view.
General
- ContentSelect the type of content or data for your QR code to contain. Depending on the type you select, you will be presented with a specific view to enter the different parts of the content, for example the url for a web link, or the name and address of a contact.
- Background colorSelect the background color of the whole QR code. The selected color will be transparent not to interfere with the foreground elements of the code when it is scanned.
Eye Frame
The eye frame is the frame around the eyes in three corners of the code.
- ColorSelect the color of the element.
- ShapeSelect the shape of the element. Tapping the selected choice will deselect it.
Eye
The eye is found in three corners of the code. It is used to help orient the code when scanning it.
- ColorSelect the color of the element.
- ShapeSelect the shape of the element. Tapping the selected choice will deselect it.
Data Dot
The dots are the elements spread out in the main area of the QR code. They are used to encode the data content of the code.
- ColorSelect the color of the element.
- ShapeSelect the shape of the element. Tapping the selected choice will deselect it.
- PaddingIncludes a small padding between the data dots.
Embedded Image
This is an optional image you can place in the middle of the QR code. This is not part of the data content of the code, but purely a graphic element to make the QR code look different.
- Predefined imageSelect a predefined image to use in the code. Tapping the selected choice will deselect it. Any selected custom image will be deselected.
- Custom imageSelect a custom image from your local photo library, or a new photo using the camera, to use in the code. Tapping the red ❌ to the right of a selected image will deselect it. Any selected predefined image will be deselected.
- Color tintSelect a color to tint the selected image.* The opacity level will control how much the image will be tinted by the selected color. Tapping the red ❌ to the right of a selected color will remove it.
- PaddingIncludes a level of padding around the image. The padding will be added to non-opaque parts of the custom image. Any transparent parts of an image will let the data dots behind to be visible.**
Other
- SaveSaves the current QR code to your history list.
- ShareSelect this (in the top bar) to export your QR code as an image. Select a format and a size for the image. Selection of a destination will use the system provided share dialog and is dependent on the operating system and its version, and other installed software, for example by email or air drop.
* Some predefined images will not be tinted due to copyright restrictions.
** Transparency is supported by the png image file format. When using transparent custom images, please check the QR code that it is scannable before using it.
